This is my third year going and I honestly can't wait. Coachella is the only festival I look forward to the entire year, besides EDC Las Vegas. The first year I went to Coachella was in 2013. I went with four of my closest friends and we spent the majority of our time inside the Sahara Tent. I'm a huge EDM fan so you can imagine how excited I got when Benny Benassi and Wolfgang Gartner performed.
If there's one performance I can't forget, It would be the Yeah Yeah Yeah's. Karen O rocked it and sounded just as good in person. She had the whole crowd pumped and truly delivered an amazing performance.
Phoenix was another favorite performance of mine. I remember Thomas Mars surfing through the crowd and ending up on the opposite side of the stage. He climbed the scaffold tower near the soundboard so his fans could see him better. It was one of the most memorable experiences I've ever had at any festival.
Yes, it gets hot and humid throughout the day, but it's worth it. You don't even think about it when you're on your way to see a performance. What attracts me the most to Coachella besides the music, is the art and fashion. I don't know any other music festival that emphasizes fashion and art as much as Coachella does. You see some crazy outfits but no one cares because Coachella is a place to be yourself where no one judges you. Everyone is there to have a good time, make memories that will last them a lifetime and express themselves creatively.
Zedd and Empire of the Sun performed last year and that was truly the icing on the cake. I had never seen Empire live, so standing in the middle of the crowd with the perfect view of the stage was the highlight of my Day 2 experience. The crowd was so uplifting and fun. Chromeo was awesome as well. They had the whole crowd dancing and singing and I didn't want their performance to end.
One of the more beautiful performances was by Flume. His music always pierces my heart but in a positive way. He had never performed at Coacehlla before so after his performance in 2014, he completely blew up everywhere. He's very talented and does a lot of collaborations.
I'm sure this year will not disappoint. Four shows I look forward to seeing are Kaskade, Florence & The Machine, Odesza and Gesaffelstein. I've already planned my outfits and will be leaving to the desert in 2 days!
Thankfully I live in LA so the commute won't be too bad. Palm Springs is always a fun city to visit. Everyone is so nice and the food is delicious.
